What, in your opinion, truly defines America?

  1. I find that America cannot be easily defined into one role. In my opinion America is most closely defined by its limitless possibilities. America is one of the few countries that allows its citizens to be truly independent and choose their own destiny.

  2. In my opinion, America would be defined as fifty states united to form a nation with democracy in order to protect its people's natural and civil rights. America can be characterized with diversity and opportunities. Moreover, America has rapidly grown since its birth to become one of the world power.

  3. I think that individualism defines America. As a country we are all entitled to our own individual rights and freedoms, and these rights "supposedly" cant be taken away.

  6. In my opinion freedom and the ability to express yourself is what truly defines America. We are able to have a system where people are free to believe what they want and share those beliefs, but have a structured system as well and that is what has helped America obtain the reputation it has today.

  9. In my opinion America is truly defined by hard work and perseverance . In American History the country has had many hardships like the Revolutionary war, the Civil war, 9/11, etc. Every time our country is put in a difficult situation we work hard and never give up and eventually because of this we become a stronger country.

  10. Personally, I believe that opportunity truly defines America. America has been dubbed “The Land of Opportunity” and there are endless opportunities in America from employment to enjoyment. Historically, large amounts of people have immigrated to America as a result of the opportunities available, even in tough economic conditions like today.

  13. Standard of living, thanks primarily to our free market economy any comforts of modern life are readily accessible.

    Pursuit of happiness,liberty, and property, the ideals created by political philosophers of the eighteenth century and those which are stated in the Declaration of Independence.

    The Bill of Rights, the document that grants us citizens many freedoms that were not standard 200 years ago.

  14. In my opinion,what really defines America is the people who dream to have a better future,and always wants the best for the country. The statue of liberty is a great object that now and in the past became really significant it showed that
    America is the country of liberty,the eagle is an animal that is very strong and big,so it also becomes a great symbol for America, because it shows how strong America is, so in conclusion America is strong with dreams, for a better future for the people.

    All the cultures and people that share this country play their own special harmony, minor and major sometimes at the tame.
    You can't find a definition that suits to all the cultures.

  21. Personally I think America is defined by the freedom to be as good or better than any others around you regardless of where you begin. America gives the minority equal opportunity to achieve success in wealth and social status. America completes the idea that everyone is entitled with certain inalienable rights, most importantly to me is the freedom to pursue happiness.
